DriveWorks form technology provides a blank canvas and the tools to build a completely custom user interface. There is no restriction on how forms can be displayed.
- The scissor lift demo shows how forms can be set up for different user needs. Images, input layouts, and 3D are used so the scissor lift can be configured in a highly visual way that is suitable for less experienced users. In contrast, power users can configure products by building an SKU without needing to select options.
- The scissor lift shows how forms can be displayed in different languages. This is implemented using a table of translations that each control accesses using DriveWorks rules and table lookup functions. It’s a reliable and easy-to-maintain solution if your product configurator has different user languages or is used in different regions.
Documents and data for sales and manufacturing
Sales documents and SOLIDWORKS® manufacturing data for the configured scissor lift are automatically created using DriveWorks Autopilot.
- HTML BOM and quote documents are created in real-time as users configure.
- Intelligent file naming gradually creates a library of components that can be accessed quickly, streamlining processes.
- Drawings are updated to be production ready by scaling and positioning drawings views.
